Francesc Balcells is investment manager of Aristea SICAV FIM GEM Debt and CIO of global emerging markets debt for FIM Partners. Previously, he was Executive Vice President of PIMCO, head of emerging markets for Rogge Capital Partners and portfolio manager for emerging markets at Harvard Management Company. He began his career as a sovereign securities analyst at Moody’s Investors Service in New York and worked for 4 years as an economist at the International Monetary Fund in Washington DC. Francesc holds a master’s degree in international economics and foreign affairs from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Barcelona.
